Fitting a glovebox- help please!

I simply can't get the glovebox into my new dash. I know the metal bits at the top are tough to get past, but it just gets to the point where it won't go any further. There's nothing in the way behind it.

 

Any advice would be very much appreciated, before I smash it into many, many pieces! :bad-words:

its a right royal pain. Its the reinforcement plastic section on the underside of teh glovebox which fouls against the opening. I just cut mine off and added some damplifier to prevent too much resonance - i'm a bit weird like that :cuckoo: Just remove it with some pliers, file it down with sandpaper and you're done. You may still have to pull the lower edge of the opening down. Best of luck!

i just kept wiggling and gently forcing but mainly helping the underside of itthrough. It does go in just take ur time and dont lose your patience.
