Jim 2 Posted January 30, 2004 Hi Guys, I was reading the thread in the for sale section, where Gus is selling those Porsche alloys. And even though they are 5 stud wheels, you can buy an adaptor to convert a 4 stud car to fit them. Does such a thing exist that will let fit 5 stud Speedlines onto a 4 stud car? I know that this has been talked about much before, and it was said that its normally a hell of a lot of work to make 5 stud Corrado wheels fit onto 4 stud Corrado hubs (loads of things you'd have to replace) - so why isn't there just an adaptor, just like those Porsche wheels have, to do the same thing? Ta!
andycowuk 0 Posted January 30, 2004 these porche adaptors are £200+ from H&R, but you could do the conversion using vag parts for less. Another reason may be to do with the PCD of the vw 5 stud. The porche is 5*120, and the vw is 4 stud is 4*100, so there is 20mm to put the 4 bolts through the adaptor into the vw hub, and then the wheel bolts round the outside of the 4 countersunk bolts. IF the vw is 5*100 then at some point on the wheel the countersunk bolts will be in the way of the wheel bolts.....does that make sense?
aposegil 0 Posted January 30, 2004 andy just to correct you Porsche is 5 x 130 BMW is 5 x 120 Merc and some passats are 5 x 112 and VW and audi is 5 x 100 and 4 x 100 and 4 x 98 as for you Jim you cant really get quality kits for the 4x100 to 5x100 to do that youll need to change the rear disks to vr 5x100 also the front to golf mkIII gti 5x100 hub and disks and bingo your done

Jim 2 Posted February 1, 2004 Any idea on some links to some sensible online stores who sell those kinda wheels? Only place I have found so far is performancealloys.com, and their prices are a bit eye-watering! :( Er.. actually don't worry. Had a look for some pics and I am not too keen on the compomotives! MikeVR6 0 Posted February 1, 2004 Take a look at the Speedline Chrono wheel on this website. http://www.speedlinecorse.co.uk/ I've the 16" version on my Corrado.
Jim 2 Posted February 1, 2004 Mike, Can you tell me where abouts I can find somewhere to get prices for Speedline wheels? The Corrado I am buying used to have Speedline Competition 2 alloys on it, and I REALLY liked them. I wouldn't mind finding prices for them again.... Those Speedlines look pretty good on your motor as well m8 :)

MikeVR6 0 Posted February 1, 2004 I bought mine second hand, so I never dealt with a Speadline dealer. The only place I know is Performance Alloys, but as you say, they're abit pricey
