Karl's was a Mk4 lump I believe so wouldn't have used an FPR as the MK4 has one on the fuel line like the VR. Just the Mk5 lumps need an FPR. Good luck with the conversion though dude, if you're handy with a spanner you shouldn't find it too difficult, the mechanical side of it is easy really, it's the wiring and the faffing about getting it running right afterwards that takes the time!

as rob said the mechanical side is very easy, it literally just drops onto the vr mounts so thats easy, you can easily just use one spal 11" fan.

then comes the wiring issues but going to SWICT is a good move, as you wont end up in the same situation i did :censored:

and yeh the sigma is a great alarm, i will post the spec later for you as for price say £75 inc postage.

nice looking rado, I found the trickiest part of the r32/audi 3.2 conversion was sourcing all the relevent parts.....oh yeah and searching for any dropped money behind the sofa!

good luck with it all, say hi to mark at swict for me.

I will say, if you are having to source parts, try and get the right parts for the right engine i.e. if it's an Audi lump get the Audi parts and same with the Mk5 lump etc. Reason being is even though they're the same lump, they're not happy with different parts here there and everywhere so if you want it to go smoothly stick with the correct parts, you'll only end up buying again otherwise (or so Vince has said!).

well yes and no, i have a vw eos loom powering the audi ecm, and a vw r32 pedal which may be a mk4 that controls the audi horses . but some components are model specific such as the maf sensor (im led to believe). So with a little research and gut feeling/luck you can use a combination of parts.

Yeah I suppose a lot of the parts would just be shared, but I just know that Vince had a mk2 R32 conversion at his when I was getting my wiring done and it had an Audi lump and used some R32 parts and he ended up having to get all the correct bits. Not sure which bits exactly though. Mine was fussy with the lambda probes, I got ones for the audi lump 2nd hand but my ECU didn't like them.
