Photoshop Gurus help!

Im trying to carbon Fibre a bonnet using http://www.digimods.co.uk/tutorials/tutorials.htm carbonfibre tutorial. I can pretty much do what it says but the picture im using is only 450x750 and the weave on the carbon fibre is too wide and looks stupid. what can I do to make the CF layer/pattern better for a smaller pic?

when creating a new document to inset the carbon fibre weave in, just make it smaller rather than using 1600 x 1200. If that doesn't work once you have a new document with the carbon fibre, right click on it and free transform it and just stretch it or shrink it to size.
