Roadie 0 Posted March 17, 2003 My simple drivers wheelbearing change has now escalated to a new driveshaft being required  £225+vat Is the best quote so far and that is for the part only. I gotta get it fitted to :( Does ne1 know where I can beat this price?

Banana Man 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Also if you want a cheaper alternative try the breakers 0115 9791121!!! I might be able to get a new driveshaft from work I'll have a look in our book see what it lists if we can get them at a better price than £170+vat I'll let you know!!! Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 18, 2003 Why do you need a new shaft? I've never known any VW to need a new shaft personally, but I have heard of people replacing them. Are the splines worn out at the wheel end? Surely a s/hand one from a breaker's would suffice? Cheers Kev 94 VR6
