left turns easier than right ?! why?

Recommended Posts

I guess you were unlucky .. parts fail, that much is true. Fact is a refurb should be just as good as a new one, if it's done right. Sad fact is it rarely is done right, or so it seems..

Same here too, Stealth fitted one from GSF to mine but it failed very quickly and developed the symptoms described in this thread. Had to buy a genuine replacement and refurb it together with associated parts, not thrilled. Don't skimp on key parts

Quelle surprise

I'd rather chance a second hand rack than fit anything from GSF tbh.

I think the roads have a lot to do with this, I've been told my rack is fine and mine feels heavier turning right than left most the time. Yet on some roads it feels fine (well when the tracking is right anyway!). One part of the duel carriageway I take to work gets on my tits every day, car is constantly pulling to the left as the road tilts away for drainage :censored:

Yep, very true Mr Heronsaws. The gaiter check is the only way to be 100% sure. You'll soon know because minky old PAS fluid that's been sat in a gaiter for weeks / months / years absolutely reeks. Smells like vomit.

On my old rack, I pulled the gaiter off and fluid literally poured out onto the floor, so it had obviously been leaking for a while!
