Amount of oil on VR6 (including filter) - forgot the book :(

Anyone able to quickly lookup the amount of oil the VR6 should have when doing a complete oil change.

 

Can't remember from top of head - and the service book I forgot back home :(

According to my Bentley it's 6 liters with the oil filter.. :-)

 

But tbh, I'd follow this advice:

Don't just throw 5.5 litres in whatever you do. Just take your time, fill it up to about 3 or 4 litres, check the level, then just keep topping up in half litre increments, checking the dipstick, and so on. If you end up over filling it you stand to do other types of damage (ruin the cat, etc) :(

6 litres standard

5.75 litres with a Mocal

 

Just stick the whole lot in, run it up to temperature then check the level in the morning. Insufficient oil in a VR6 is considerably more damaging than too much.

thnx guys - it's going off for winter storage - so just changing the oil first ;)
