8vMatt 1 Posted November 24, 2010 Hi guys I might have the chance to buy a set of these wheels finished in white. They are 7x17 in 5x100 with the 57.1mm spigot for VW and ET25. I'm wondering if they would be a little poky or could they be alright due to being on the skinny side? They are about 6 months old, no problems apart from a spoke has been damaged on one wheel from hitting a rock garden! Seem to me to be good money as well. Are these good wheels people? Any thoughts are very welcome :)
leeeeshad 0 Posted November 24, 2010 Have a play with this and see what it says. http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html
8vMatt 1 Posted November 24, 2010 Very useful, thanks for that. Says the wheels would be an extra 4mm further out to what I have at the moment. Could be getting tight at the back then by about 1mm :gag:

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 24, 2010 I have Pro Race 1s on at the moment mate, ET35. Nice light wheels and tonnes of clearance for big brakes! ET25 will be ok at the back, but I'm not sure at the front. It won't poke past the arch, but might hit it over severe bumps.
coullstar 0 Posted November 24, 2010 Light wheels these. Are they Pro Race 1 or 1.2's? The 1.2's have the writing round the rim. Should be ok. I had some that were ET38 but run with 10mm spacer on the front with no problems.
dukest 0 Posted November 25, 2010 They'll sit almost the same as your TTs so go for it!
8vMatt 1 Posted November 25, 2010 Thanks guys, very helpful as ever. These are the Pro Race 1's, not the 1.2 I've tried a 6mm spacer on my TT Comps and the rear drivers side had a slight rub. I think they would clear at 3-4mm, exactly what the checker said these wheels would sit further out than the TT's. I could go with 195's maybe as I'm thinking about winter tyres. All UK stock could be gone by the time I get around to buying though! What sort of value would these fetch secondhand then? I might be able to get them for £200-250, bear in mind one has a bit of spoke damage. Nothing wrong on the rest.
dukest 0 Posted November 25, 2010 Is the spacer relevant to this question though? You only put them on TTs to get the rear centre cap on right? The calculator in my head says these will sit 1-2mm further out than non-spaced TTs, ie. not noticeable.

It was just put down here to show how close the TT's are to the arch. I got the 4mm from the link kindly put in one the above posts. I reckon they should fit fine. I just don't know anything about Pro Race wheels or Team Dynamics really. Do people rate them? I know they're light, any other good points?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 25, 2010 Main advantage is brake clearance and light weight and I happen to think they suit corrados! Rare wheels too. Not made any more
