lowvr 0 Posted December 26, 2013 would anyone have knowledge of weather early grills are still available new?
clumpy1 11 Posted December 26, 2013 I take it you mean front grille? I don't believe they are though unfortunately for you I had a mint one which has been sold. I do know spoonfed tuning do an early style reproduction which is really good.
lowvr 0 Posted December 26, 2013 yes meant front grill thats a shame about the dead production spoonfed tuning one is nice but i think i prefere it with the badge. ...its all about the rear extended spoiler with spoonfed though ;) any clues as to what these early grills go for second hand then as you recently sold one? ...can pm if thats a better idea
oneohtwo 8 Posted January 18, 2014 been down to the dealers this week so have a few prices: Oil Pressure Switch High and Low (VO28 919 081 H/V068 919 081 D) £12.62 Each Thermostat (V075 121 113 D) £24.91 Thermostat O-ring (VN 901 368 02) £3.84 Oil Cooler Gaskets (V038 117 070) £3.25 (V038 117 070 A) £4.24 Oil Filter (V021 115 562) £14.60 Prices are all without VAT. Additional Parts that I didn't buy so only got rough prices: Thermostat Housing (all 3 parts inc. gaskets) approx. £75.00 Crack pipe inc. O-rings approx. £30.00 Impulse Sender (Camshaft sensor as far as I am aware) approx. £52.00 In addition the dealer said they were unable to get the Engine Speed Sensor (Crankshaft position sensor I think this is) any longer, so it might be worth stocking up on this as I understand it's a showstopper if it goes wrong! vw rule 19 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Phoned my local VW Dealer ealier today for a few bits, and got some prices. Throttle cable for 2.0 16v Corrado is £30.59 + VAT Part number is V536-721-555 Gearbox speedo sensor (VSS) is £25.46 + VAT Part number I think is V191-919-149D Clutch hydraulic metal pipe complete with flexi hose, VW only list the early one from 1989 to 1992 which is about £68.00 told me they no longer list the pipe for the later Corrado's from 1992 to 1996 So I'll probably make my own pipe up and use a brake flexi hose with female ends, so I'll be able to screw the pipe in at each end, this way only the flexi hose has to be replaced if it bursts and not the whole pipe, like on the original set up. annavr6 10 Posted March 25, 2014 front early grilles are available from the VW Heritage website, from classic parts
g0ldf1ng3r 15 Posted March 25, 2014 front early grilles are available from the VW Heritage website, from classic parts Anna - could you please confirm if the 'late' grille is the summer type with open slats? rather than the so called 'winter' type which has the closed slots in the grille thanks
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted March 25, 2014 AFAIK, you can't buy the grille with the closed slots - it's not even listed in ETKA. So any late grille you buy will be the one with all slats open.
Jim 2 Posted March 25, 2014 It may be worth checking on the Classic Parts website directly as they do often photograph the actual stock they have in their warehouse (rather than use a 'library picture') - you may be able to ascertain whether it's the closed or open slat variant of the grille. Actually I've just taken a look (see attached picture) and it does seem to be the open slat variant :)
annavr6 10 Posted March 25, 2014 Our image at vw heritage is the actual grille, we photo all our parts when they arrive
g0ldf1ng3r 15 Posted March 25, 2014 superb! thanks jim & joe i had seen the image was open slat but thought id ask anna to confirm just in case it was a stock image as you say anna - quick response as ever & thank you for confirmation :)

vw rule 19 Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) Prices below are from my local VW Main dealer For all Corrado's 16v's, G60, VR6 Rear stub axle bolts, part number is: N908-773-01 Cost is £0.68 + VAT per each 8 of these are fitted, 4 to each stub axle. These bolts are 10mm X 30mm long Washers for above bolts, part number is: 321-501-119A Cost is £0.35 + VAT per each 8 of are fitted, 4 to each stub axle bolt. For 2.0 16v (9A) but might fit 1.8 16v (KR) also. Exhaust manifold gaskets, part number is: 027-129-589A Cost is £12.70 + VAT per each. 4 of these are fitted between head and manifold, these gaskets are 2mm thick. I've tried so many of the thinner aftermarket gaskets, that are 1mm think these cheaper ones don't last 5 minutes, I know the OEM exhaust gaskets are quite expensive, but being 2mm think they normally last for years. For all UK Corrado's Rear number plate light unit, part number 535-943-105 Cost is £13.82 Plastic clear one piece lense with rubber seal and bulbs.
