fla 9 Posted December 16, 2010 Hard to explain this, but the striker portion inside the lock mechansim that actually grabs the striker in teh door frame has a plastic coating on it. I've just replaced my door striker pins but the drivers side still doesnt sound as nice as the passenger side, slightly 'clicky'. The door is tight agaisnt the frame and the seals are also ok. The 'non-thump' is speciually from the lock so i can only attribute it to teh lack of plastic on the lock catch, perhaps? Now to my point! Is there any way to get this recoated or to melt a thin layer of some pvc-type plastic on to it?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 16, 2010 Are you talking about the pins in the B pillar you adjust with a 15mm spanner or something inside the lock mech (bolted to the door)?
fla 9 Posted December 16, 2010 no, its the actual arm in the lock mechanism on the door that hooks on to the door pin. I'll get a pic as its a bit hard to describe.
