VR6 Help please !!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys need some help please my vr6 started making a screching noise tuesday .... it was coming from the belt to the right of the air box big fat belt didnt think much of it dumb ass...

then coming home from work tonight started making the noise again thenall of a sudden the battery light came on and seemed to drop power and the sterring became really heavy so i slowed down but didnt not want to stop as i was not far from home and its like 3.30 am.

I turned into my road and the sterring was so heavy i could hardley turn the wheel left or right managed to get to my house and pull into my space but again as i was trying to park in the space i had to really pull the sterring wheel to the left with both hands to get it in to the space ?????

I have not checked the fluids as its to dark now will check in the morning but has anybody got any ideas or had this problem before

many thanks in advance

Jerry :help:

sounds like the belt went

easy enuff to change, just need small hands.

the tensioner is on top of the belt, but becareful moving it as it can spring back and clatter your fingers

don't drive it like this as the water pump won't be running so you'll cook it

luck dude :)

Just been out and checked car and the belt has slipped off not all the way but looks as if that is the problem

what should i expect to pay a garage to fix it ??

I know most will say fix it yourself but i will lose fingers i then hit my beloved Corrado with hammer :epicfail:
