VW Corrado 16V 0 Posted February 27, 2004 I bought this Corrado. I read on web sites that the car must be driven only with the A98 fuel? What you can tell more about that?
vr6storm 0 Posted February 27, 2004 i would imagine its meant to be 97-98 RON fuel................it might help us help you better if you tell us where-a-bouts u are as petrol is rated differently in certain countries.........for example USA.......of course you'll be a bit unlikely to be threr as the 1.8 16v wasn't officially sold/marketed there
VW Corrado 16V 0 Posted February 27, 2004 I'm from Bulgaria, Europe. I bought the car from Italy. in the web sites I find this Information: The 1.8 16v Corrado was made solely for the UK and Italian markets and the first available Right Hand Drive (RHD) version of the Corrado to be available in the UK. This model Corrado uses the Bosch K-Jetronic continuous injection type of fuelling system. This model can only really run on 98RON super unleaded as the engine cannot be adjusted for 95RON unless you fit something like a K-Star injection/timing kit. And I feel difference when I drive it with 98 and 95. What can u tell me more?

Henny 0 Posted February 27, 2004 I used to run my 1.8 16V (KR) corrado on normal 95RON unleaded when I first got it... As long as you don't get any knocking (pre-detonation) then it'll be fine... I used to put one tank of 98 in for every 3 of 95 just to give it some good fuel... 8)

chubbybrown 0 Posted March 22, 2004 We use LRP in our one,but it made me think, would the 16valver have hardened valve seats ? :?:
del68 0 Posted March 23, 2004 My 1.8 16valver runs quite happily on 95RON, I do give it a blast on Super everynow and then though, and yes, you can really notice the difference!
VW Corrado 16V 0 Posted March 25, 2004 Except that when you drive it with A98 it is faster is there another difference? Is A95 "damage" the engine or something like that...?
