Car Cutting out - Factory immobilizer ?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help with this really frustrating issue i am having and i am 100% sure now after my previous thread its now electrical immobilizer based.

- Car was doing this before i had a new alarm fitted.

- Fitted a new one hoping it was at fault and the car is still doing it.

The issue is i got to start my car and its cuts out. The engine goes to crank and then nothing. I will try after a few attempts and then it will fire up like nothings happened

Its 50/50 i could get into my car one morning and start it up and it starts fine first turn of the key and others it takes around 4-5 attempts.

I have put the car on VAGcom and get the following code.

Controller 021 906 258 co

Coding: PMC 1HS

17978- Engine start blocked by immobiliser

P1570-35-10 Intermittent

When it cuts out i put the key into position one and it chirps so this leads me to believe its immobilisers related.

When it starts it starts fine put key into position 1 and no chirps.

Any ideas guys, or anyone i could take it to I am located in Milton Keynes

Sounds Like you need to delete the immobiliser from the ECU, stealth racing will do it...

ECU Relay - (109) - 1J0 906 381 A

Fuel Pump Relay - ( 167) - 191 906 383 C

my one was cutting when driving till died on the road and was starting and stalls right after, it was ecu relay

Send them your ECU and they will disable the factory immobiliser, but before doing that, have you gone into the immobiliser settings in VAG-COM? I think in there you can test if the coil reader or key are at fault. It'll be one of the two. The coil reader is pretty cheap and the most common thing to fail.

been trying to find the measuring blocks but having a problem any idea what they are im certain its the factory immob

They are in the Controller 25 - Immobilser.

Only 4 fields in Group 001.

A good engine start looks like this........

The only other indications are the fault code for a "blocked" communications between the Immobiliser and the engine ECU.
