Stereo Wiring

Recommended Posts

hello people

hopefully someone can shed some light on this, but on my newely aquired Corrado's stereo stays on even with the ignition turned off, so I decided to fit my own expecting to come across a load of chopped up wires like you'd normally find on older cars, but it still has the original loom... then when I checked my fuse box to make sure everything is ok I noticed the Radio holder doesn't even have a fuse in it?

Is this something I should be worried by or is it normal with aftermarket stereos?

also... the spoiler doesn't work, automatically or off the switch

Firstly, if theres a fuse missing it would be useful to replace it!

Secondly it sounds like the usual red wire/yellow wire scenario. Yellow wire is memory so should be connected to a constant 12v, red wire is ignition so if you look for those wires behind the stereo they should not be connected together.

Can't help with the spoiler im afraid, I would advise checking for a blown fuse but im sure a quick search would bring up topics about it.
