Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 8, 2011 .... http://www.volkswizard.co.uk/carsforsale/lcj37y.htm Starting to get a soft spot for them again! I used to have a 16V MK1 and it was an absolute riot to drive!
Yandards 0 Posted June 8, 2011 I keep getting a mk 2 twitch now and then; although I also still fancy converting a mk 2 'rocco in a 16v as that would be a very quick car given it's lighter and more aerodynamic than a mk 2.
Tempest 0 Posted June 8, 2011 converting a mk 2 'rocco in a 16v Get one ready-made (factory-built) from Germany, occasionally still coming up for sale on some of the German Autotrader sites :) Tempest
coullstar 0 Posted June 8, 2011 Been there, done that. Rose tinted specs Im afraid. The Mk2 feels so old / basic / flimsy compared to the Corrado, a Mk1 must be even more so.
Toohottotrot 10 Posted June 8, 2011 I love the Corrado but I also have a Mk1 Scirocco with a supercharged 1.8 20valve fitted......It's very fast (think sh*te crossways fast!) Everywhere I go people point and want to talk about the car. :)
aide 0 Posted June 8, 2011 /\ mmm yeh either a mkI or II scirocco 16v on TB's, and a g40 and my pet VW garage would be complete :) still miss my 89 GTII as a mess around motor.
mimjed 0 Posted June 8, 2011 really kev? thought youd fancy something a bit more tasty than an agu in it? im sure your aware your 5K would only be the beggining!!
Portent 0 Posted June 8, 2011 That's nice. On my list to get at some point: Mk1 GTI (my first car was a silver mk1 1.3 and I loved it) Mk2 16v (already had one in Atlas grey, loved it too)

Pete 0 Posted June 9, 2011 If I had a spare 5k I'd get a bare metal respray and custom leather retrim, along with some stealthy hifi and new wheels. On another car I really like the Golfs, but as a bit of fun I'd probably get a 200SX for rwd fun or an Integra Type-R. Or a Lotus Elan if you can get a tidy one for the money.
