VW_OwneR_85 2 Posted June 24, 2011 hello, does anyone know the rough price of a windscreen? iv heard they are a nightmare to remove as there glued in,and would probably break on removal anyway, iv got rust bubbles in both top corners so idealy i would smash the windscreen out get everything cleaned up, expose the nasty rust and go from there! OllieVR6 0 Posted June 24, 2011 Hi mate, I'm in exactly the same situation (except I get a river in my car everytime it rains!). I'll be interested to see suggestions also.

RowanVW 0 Posted June 25, 2011 Hiya, Just done this, I took it out myself using a flathead screwdriver and a stanley knife, then loctite rust killer, red oxide primer, filler then final black hammerite top coat. Guy charged £190 :) was a real mess behind there though so get it sorted before hand!
VW_OwneR_85 2 Posted June 25, 2011 good blady work!! did you get it out in 1 peice? and was the £190 for the windscreen? any pics?
KADVR6 0 Posted June 25, 2011 i have an original windscreen in my old corrado with only one small chip in the bottom left, if you come and take it out (i'm a clumsy git and will break it) £50 karl
mikkijayne 0 Posted June 25, 2011 Did this on one of mine a while back. The rust was so bad I had to replace the whole outer skin of the A-pillar from door hinge to roof :(
RowanVW 0 Posted June 25, 2011 good blady work!! did you get it out in 1 peice? and was the £190 for the windscreen? any pics? Well it was badly cracked anyway, so with a few more cracks it came out alright, laminated and plastic edged so it held its shape, the guy said if I hadn't done the work before hand he wouldn't have done it, that price was for the brand new windscreen and fitting!
