peachers 10 Posted July 20, 2011 Hi, As seems to be common with a lot of other corrados, I have an issue with the ABS light intermittently coming on on my VR6. Obviously with my MOT due in about 3months, I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible. The problem is fairly intermittent - 50% of the time the light will come on when I start up and then go out as normal, and the rest of the time it will stay on and occasionally even come on in the middle of a journey. I have had the fault codes read using VAGcom and the codes were as follows:- Address 03: ABS Brakes 9 Faults Found: 00285 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Front Right (G45) 35-00 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46) 35-00 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44) 35-00 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G44) 16-00 - Signal Outside Specifications 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Front Left (G47) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction 00793 - Brake Pedal Position Sensor (G100) 35-00 The previous owner already had the ABS light problem investigated by a VW specialist who discovered that the ABS ring was out of shape which they straightened out and thought had resolved the problem. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have worked and I am just wondering where I go now? From the fault codes that have been generated, it looks like all the sensors have thrown up errors but surely if that was the case then the light would be on all the time. The last code is for the Brake Pedal Position Sensor so I am wondering if this may be the actual cause of the problem and I should try and get it refurbished by DG Autotech? Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 20, 2011 So you've cleared the codes and the same ones keep coming back? If that's the case then you'll need to check / replace the offending sensors.
