Advice needed (rear axle paint)

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased a brand new rear axle for my VR6. Any ideas on a better than standard paint finish to have applied?

I want to protect it better but keep an original look.

Thanks, Mj

Hi

I used 2 pack etch primer and 2 pack satin black on all my axles / subframes with clear waxoil to finish it all off.

We use the etch and black to allot of the off road builds we do and its a fairly chip free hard wearing finish.

id go for something painted on over a sandblasted finish , that way you can touch bits in and do part repairs in the future

por15 is very hard and does well on blasted steel

epoxy primer would be a decent choice too , theres rustbuster epoxy mastic , or jotamastic on ebay theyre less fussy on the prep if you wont have it blasted
