lumpy idling

Recommended Posts

Still getting to grips with my 2.0 16v ... but have noticed at idling speeds the car is really jerky ... not nice and smooth.

The rev counter seems to sit just below 1000, but yesterday the car started cutting out on me a few times when the speeds dropped, and thts a bit unnerving!!

Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing it?

Or do i need to just up the idle speed?? And if so.... how??

Going to try and clean the ISV tomorrow, is it worth changing the potentiometer? Don't know how i would find out, but which one do i i go for? Also, what is a thermo-time switch and where is it?
