Where does this part live?

After replacing my dash and changing the heater matrix, I found this stuck to my door car at home, there was some sticky tape on the door card inside and it must have got stuck to it whilst it being in the car on the back seat. I had a feeling its somewhere near the heater matrix or the fan housing? I just hope its the fan as my undertrays are not yet fitted but hope I dont have to remove the dash again!

Behind the door card, it goes around the door handle

EDIT: actually, looking at it again, maybe not.. i think the door handle foam isn't quite as square :?

I think its from the foot vents...

it does look like that foam that surrounds the plastic door handle on the inside of the doorcard (the handle which has the metal rod that connects to the door lock)

Agree. Interior door pull area, trough is for the rod to the door lock.

its a funny pieces, looks like it doesnt fit as the sides of the door pull are slanted, whereas this is has a rectuangular-ish profile. Thats where is goes though!

think it is defo the door pull foam looking at the Bentley manual...
