Awesome thread, you've done a great job and well done keeping faith when a lot of people would have thrown in the towel!

too much to care about haha, the box is the main bulk of the weight, the rest looks worse than it is but has lots of cut outs etc you dont see, and any hidden panels that dont need to be solid for acoustics are thin ply. but yer, i know what ur thinking and im thinking the same, be interesting to see what shes like to drive after, especially after ive been driving it about striped out for the last year.

Regardless once those sub are vibrating my life and the vr is growling in the ear im pretty sure i wont have another care in the world.. i will let you know how the handling has changed though!

EJ I am seriously going to have to drive down to see & hear this in the flesh when it's finished if you would be so kind as to accommodate me!?

plus your caddy & Bristol too pls :) lol

Just read the whole post in one hit and loved it. Great work. Like the drivers seat in last pic (lol). Do the door cards go straight over the front speakers?

Thanks dude! great to hear! Its like my cars online portfolio...

Trying to compensate for added weight u see, hot glue it down use a ratchet strap for a seat belt job done! haha

Yer i built them so they sit perfectly upto the back of the existing grill, ill get a picture of them with the cards on later, all i had to do was dremel out a tiny bit of the door card then the inner support bits of plastic in the pocket speaker housing bit and they go straight over. I didnt take me long at all and the acoustic gains from sealing them into the door rather than having them floating in the air in the door card is going to make a world of difference! A Corrado with mid bass!???:bonk::dance:

You won't believe the difference having your speakers solidly mounted and playing into a well sealed and deadened door makes mate. I've just built mine so the Audioscape pod goes over the top as a sort of vanity cover and had loads of dramas doing it, the first time I fired it up afterwards though made it all worthwhile! :)

Few more picture updates, at the final process now trimming the panels and wiring it all, went for a leather base with grey alcantara on the detailing panels, you'll also see how we are doing the back lighting for the glowing beam within the panel.

The photos dont really show it but in pictures one and 2 the color of the leather is just of the roll, we sent a sample of the corrado leather to our material suppliers and they sent us the closest grain match they had, they then used the sample to make a one off custom color matched leather paint which they sent back in the form of an aerosol a week later, so in pictures 3 onwards is the sprayed color matched panels, the finish from the can is literally perfect and the color match could not be better, once the side panels are in the whole build will make alot more sense but for now this is just a little update. Honestly really impressed with the leather paint though and after intense product testing i found the only product that gets it off/ damages it is white spirit.

Also as me and a few friends decided oxford lacks a decent german car club these days we sort of started our own little thing to meet up and socialise (LINK) and as the Rado wasnt ready thought i would give the Caddy a much neede polish and wax.

that's a PITA. I remember doing some wheels a number of years ago, they looked great. Went to them a couple of days later and it looked like someone had poured Nitromors onto them..

I think we have all been there. Done a full respray looked wicked no runs went out to let it dry and a ton of dust landed on it and the guvnor blamed me. The dust came from the rotten roof not cause I went out.

bit more progress, these quarter panels were such an a rse to trim it was silly, just waiting on more material for the other side and some more paint to colout match, notice the difference in colours between said panel and the one we already painted to the box top/
