G60 supercharger removal/fitment

Recommended Posts

Those of you who saw my G60 at stealth will no doubt know my charger is a little poorly.

I have sourced a factory standard one straight out of refurb and need to get it fitted asap

I have a Bentley manual and it seems straight forward.

Is there anything to watch out for whilst doing it??

Just the answer I was after.

Am using my phone atm so google searches were rubbish.

Will keep that link for when I rebuild the stage 4 one

the worst of it really is getting you tools to fit with good purchase in the engine bay and unscrew the things and also i very nearly rounded some of the screws which would have been a right faff......

if theyre original screws i think theyre allen key fittment i seem to remember ? well mine were

pretty sure you can buy a full set of nice new screws which is deffo worth it(nice and shiny lol)

pretty easy tbh

Thanks for the advice.

Only issue I foresee is getting the pulley off the new charger as its a 78mm one. Am thinking some big grips and lots of brute force.

The pulley should come off the existing charger easy enough as I put plenty of copper slip on it before fitting.

One of these wrapped around the pulley where the belt would sit will stop it turning and wont damage it. ;)

Or maybe you could wrap a rag around the pulley and clamp it in a vice.
