jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 4, 2004 hmm, thats strange. my rear shocks are set on the middle setting and its sitting too high IMO. i am using 40mm koni springs.
Supercharged 2 Posted April 4, 2004 Yeah, I've just ordered the same setup as the Jedi... I also could not seem to get any H&R's for weeks... I think the Eibachs should give a 30mm drop
jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 4, 2004 i dont understand why everyone is so anti the koni springs.... i have driven both setups and there is very little difference...but thats a different matter the height thing is wierd....a didnt think the g60 was different to the vr6 at the rear. Mine definately needs to come down about 1cm before its level. does the front look too high or is it definately the rear that is too low? i havent measured mine for a while so not sure of the actual distances
20v turbo 0 Posted April 4, 2004 it si strange, ill be speaking to venom tomorrow though
jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 4, 2004 could just be duff springs i guess?? did you put new top mounts on when you did the change.. aparently worn ones can account for up to a 2 cm drop in rear end height
daves16v 1 Posted April 4, 2004 The standard ride height is 360mm. MY 16v with the Koni kit is sitting about 30mm lower all round.
Supercharged 2 Posted April 4, 2004 MY 16v with the Koni kit is sitting about 30mm lower all round. Its consistent then I take it?
daves16v 1 Posted April 5, 2004 It is on mine :)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 5, 2004 Mine sits dead level, exactly the same distance from ground to centre arch all round..... perhaps that is the reason for the extra expense of the H&Rs. They are made specifically to keep the car level. K
20v turbo 0 Posted April 5, 2004 jedi-knight83, 2inch the shocker must be coming through in to the boot, but no i didnt put new topmounts on still waiting for them didnt get koni springs cos the guy at venom told me they were a bit stiffer which i didnt want but listening to you guy this doesnt seem to be the case :? Den_VR6 0 Posted April 5, 2004 right just fitted a set to my c,put the rear ones on the top seting and the car still looks to be sitting down at the backand ive got sring lowering caps on the fron Do the Koni rear shocks have adjustable platforms? I've been looking at buying Weitec Ultra TX kit purely because of the rear adjustable platforms, but if Koni has this as well...
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 5, 2004 The adjustable rears have 5 positions IIRC and the non-adjustables have 2. It's a lot easier with the H&Rs because each and every time you just set the rears to the middle clip, but with other springs, you have to play about a bit. If the car is too low at the back with the koni set at it's highest position, then they must have given you the wrong rear springs.....or the wrong front ones  There won't be enough wear in the rear top mounts to lose 20mm. What condition were the rubber top mouldings in? The bit the top coil sits in. K
20v turbo 0 Posted April 5, 2004 they wernt bad not brand new like but not bad enough to replace its the top rubber bearing ive ordered.according to the part numbers the springs are right but somethings wrong somewhere.daves16v, if the standard ride hight is 360mm then the rear spings are right they have droped the car to 320mm even onthe top seting on the shocks yet it has only droped the front by 15mm and ive got lowering sring caps on which lower the car by 15mm anyway, the guy at venom said it could be that the 20vengine isnt as heavy as the G60 but i dout this is the case :? . can somebody measure there car so i can compere it :?: cheers
jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 5, 2004 It's a lot easier with the H&Rs because each and every time you just set the rears to the middle clip although you say yours is on the one above middle  ??
