Switch LEDs

Recommended Posts

I want to change the LEDs in all my switches (heated seats, windows, rear windscreen, fog lights etc.) from green to red. I have taken them out and prised a couple open and decided that it is beyond my expertise. Can anyone advise where I could take my car to get this done professionally? Or can anyone out there do this job for me? East Anglia based.

Cheers

The window switches are a little more tricky as you have to unsolder the top of the switch before even getting to the LED solders. I got an offer from someone to do mine - which i still need to get done  But i you ask on here, someone maybe willing to do them for you. Though you'll be without switches for a couple of days.

Offer still stands :) whenever you're ready though. I'll do anyone elses too if they're willing to send them over plus a few quid to cover the cost of LEDs and postage

CorradoChris - Maplins do the correct one. Do a search inregards to what size and voltage. You need mostly 5v 3mm or 5mm (size is up to you but 3mm should be fine) also you need slightly different voltage ones for the sunroof switch.

Jason - aaah ha, it was you wasnt it. Appreciated mate, i'll prob get them done soon as i have another car ot use and corrado wont be used as a daily. Sorry its been so long haha. Probably best to send them all over and just let you get one with it... postage will be cheaper too.

Dont think the lighter or certainly the heater dial bulbs are as straight forward as just replacing the LEDs.

Easier to replace the coloured shield around the lighter and with the heater controls need some creative thinking :D lol
