Andy T 0 Posted April 7, 2004 Does the G60 ECU output fault codes for just the ABS, or Fuel / Ignition faults aswell? I've had the codes read on a VAG1551 at my garage but they weren't sure either - the only fault codes displayed were ABS related. It's a 1992 model, Cheers
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 7, 2004 ABS only. I've not been able to get my VAG-COM to communicate with a G60 engine, just the ABS controller. The Digifant brain in the G60 uses a hybrid protocol that not many systems support. I think you need to use a legacy serial protocol but I can't remember the details. Have a look at http://www.ross-tech.com Might be some more info there. K
stel g60 0 Posted April 7, 2004 yeah andy ive had mine on machines and it comes up with not responding. as far as i know they only communicate with speed sensors on gearboxes for abs stuff like you said. bit stupid really, why'd they put a port there then :? Andy T 0 Posted April 8, 2004 So does the ECU detect & store engine related faults, and is it just a matter of finding the right system to connect it to? I suppose you can't use the diode/test lamp setup to count the flashes?? cheers
