Jim Bowen 1 Posted June 30, 2012 Does the screw in sensor have any sort of sealing ring or gasket, or does it just screw in and forms it own seal? Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
GusPW 0 Posted July 1, 2012 (edited) Replace mine on Friday and wondered the same thing. Found no gasket on the old one, no gasket on the diagram in Bentley manual and the new one has stayed water tight after a 400 mile round trip to Wales and back. I Just made sure both surfaces were clean and tightened to the right torque - 35NM Edited July 2, 2012 by GusPW
nrc 0 Posted July 8, 2012 Yeah, there's supposed to be a fibre washer on there, about 1.2mm thick.

GusPW 0 Posted July 9, 2012 Anyone got a part number for that? The guy at Reading VW got fed up with me bothering him for a little washer. All he could find was the contacts housing.

Supercharged 2 Posted July 10, 2012 Its missing of ETKA - you need to look at a MK2 Golf or similar to find the washer. ---------- Post added at 1:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:25 PM ---------- http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?24967-Fan-Switch-Replacement&highlight=fan+switch+washer
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 10, 2012 I just used an O ring from one of those Rolson "4 billion O rings for a fiver" boxes which has been fine for 50K miles so far.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 10, 2012 Thats my plan, i went to VW at lunch and it doesn't have a part number. Going to buy the big assorted box as the ones i have at home are older than me
