XM4RTYX 10 Posted July 24, 2012 Hi all, today my heater decided not to work at all! Thought it was on the blink, the other day, it decided not to come through the vents to face and feet etc! But would work on windows! Now its decided not to work at all! bearing in mind I am a complete novice, would I be able to fix this myself (help needed off you guys) or will I need to take it to a vw specialist and have my eyes took out? Any help much appreciated
Bazmcc 0 Posted July 24, 2012 So what bit of it isn't working? The temp control, the fan, the controls, the fan speeds, the directional flaps..... Have you checked the electrical contact strip behind the fan speed knob? Have you checked fuses? The heater controls in a corrado are utter utter crap. They will break at some stage. The other chance is there that your fan or resistor pack is dead too.
XM4RTYX 10 Posted July 25, 2012 Thanks bazmcc the full heater not working at all. If it was the fuse, is there something else that wouldnt work if it was the fuse? Thanks
XM4RTYX 10 Posted July 25, 2012 Just a quick update, I checked the fuse and the fuse is fine, to check the electrical contact strip behind fan speed knob, do I have to take full centre console out? Thanks again
Critical_Mass 10 Posted July 25, 2012 Assuming this is the late dials and not the early style - You can get the controls out without removing the whole of the centre console. The trim around the circular dials can be prised off. then there's a screw in each corner. You may have to remove the ash tray to see one of them - cannot remember. Then you'll have to carefully remove the power connector and also be careful with the bowden cables attached to it.
XM4RTYX 10 Posted July 25, 2012 Excellent thanks critical mass! I will have a look at the weekend! Hope it is just that! :)

Bazmcc 0 Posted July 26, 2012 I have a load of bits from my dash swap mate so if you need any bits that are the same let me know. Take some pics of your setup so we know which dash and fans you have.

Thanks very much bazmcc, it is the late dash, I'll take photos of the centre console, and put them on here, (probably weekend) I don't know what I will exactly need, as I said I am a complete novice mate haha :)

XM4RTYX 10 Posted August 3, 2012 Quick update, I took controls out from dash, seemed to be a loose wire! But the problem now, is that it will only, blow on the window, not through face or feet vents! On close inspection the cogs and everything have worn down! Getting a new or 2nd hand full heater dials (the full daffy, out of centre console, late spec!) is hard to find. :(. Thanks help though guys
