I just got mine today also, great looking for the money, looks like we'll both be busy this weekend!

Just a quick question? what is the part number on the lower part of the dampers?

As I'm concerned mine is not for the fatter VR6 !

Im on about spring rating... says golf II on paperwork 37-118 kw

Front spring max weight 840 kg

rear spring max weight 740 kg

might just be me.....

Success, its taken the best part of a day, and ill need to get the tracking done tomorrow, but the racelands are on!

Took it for a very short spin, ride is firm but not bone breaking, but it handles a lot better than standard.

Did rub on the back arches on big bumps so will have to raise a bit tomorrow, but what a bargain!!

What year is your VR?

Did they go on fine? I had to drill the top spring platform out to allow the top bearing swivel correctly. If bolted up it would be hard to turn :?

Also found knocking from front as springs were being bent like a banana due to helper springs not sitting flat,so I binned them as they were not necessary....

Bit of a chew on but Spot on

I did drop it allot..

Mine is a 95 M plate and they went on fine.

I had to keep the rubber mounts front and back, but no drilling was required.

To tighten the springs, i used my hands to turn the actual spring, and it took the nut with it.(but has resulted in bruising all over my hands, trying too hard I guess!)

Fronts are fine, the springs have stayed straight, and i'm probably only lowered two thirds of what is possible.

Backs are as high as they will go though, cant really lower any more as the wheels rub on big bumps.(think thats the fact that the wheels are offset a long way, looks like there are spacers, but there aren't any, if that makes sense)

Cats.!

Any more feedback on these coilovers? How firm are they? Are they easy to adjust?and would a novice like me be able to fit them myself? Does anyone know how they compare with the supersport ones as these were my first choice but @ £200 I'm seriously tempted

cheers

Eug.

They were not a straight fit on my car,had to modify top mounts but Richie_FSOB, had no problems :| I think thy are a bit to firm for my taste and have gone back to my G-Max spring and damper setup which was fine in the first place

Sold the kit to my mate who loves low hard rides...ive been there and done that and im getting to old (26)

OKay well if the ride is too firm for a 26 y o then me at 30 will find it unbelievably hard

thanks for the advice, maybe I'll hang on until inters and see whats going on then

cheers

I have 17's on my C with 205-40-17 tyres, and I have approx 40 mm clearance at the highest.

I will be lowering a bit more, but just changed my alloys and the old ones were a fair bit wider and rubbed on the arches on big bumps.

I do still have the helper springs on, at the top.

With regards to speed bumps, they are fine, but I tend to avoid them anyway.
