Idlewillkill 10 Posted November 12, 2012 Guys, was hoping to take mine apart today for some cleaning duties. They are currently on the kitchen table and I'm a little apprehensive about taking them apart. Is there a preferred technique to doing this? Really don't wanna damage the units as a couple of the fixings clips are looking very fragile. Cheers for any help guys.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted November 12, 2012 I found a good technique but really needs a photo to show it. I stick a flat screw driver in the front hole on the clip (glass side) then lever the screwdriver back and down towards rear of light. It should just lift the front of clip up and away from the glass without putting any pressure on the glass

Jon_vr6 1 Posted November 12, 2012 Carefully remove the headlight surround (black plastic part around the front), you should then see a few big silver clips this holds the glass to the rear of the headlight remove these with a screw driver by putting the head through the slit in the clip and then pulling up towards you. Take them all off then the glass should be free from the headlight unit. Be very careful not to touch the silver lining on the headlight lense as it will just fall off when touched
Critical_Mass 10 Posted November 12, 2012 Dont worry about prying the clips that holds the glass to the light unit.
