removing brake glaze

Recommended Posts

I think my front pads have glazed as the braking performance has declined recently. I initially thought they had seized on the carriers or the caliper piston was stuck but took them apart, cleaned, copper greased them and refitted. But they're much the same. Any easy way to remove any (potential) glaze without taking them apart again? Thanks.

Hmmm, just wondering if you could get a strip of Emory paper in through the caliper to run it side to side against the pad? You'd struggle to get a good/even enough coverage of the pad.

Edit: Maybe you could run some emory against the disc (Rough side facing the pad obviously) and turn it by hand while holding it.

Would be better popping the pads out really.
