How to remove plastic triangle piece behind wing mirror .

Noticed today this part is not sitting right and there is a gap behind it . I am presuming this is a snap on and off part ?. Stupid thing is im sure i removed for repaint , but i cant remember how it came off , just wanted to check before removing and fitting back in place .
