PhatVR6 0 Posted May 6, 2004 Cheers, that's the exact pic I was after. well, there's the problem, my front panel doesn't look like that. mine has 2 slots, where yours has one, but they are were the bolt hole is on yours!

Guest Posted May 6, 2004 is it a VR slam panel ? ..cos at one point I had 3 different slam panels in my possession, 1 off a vr6, 1 off a 1.8 16v and 1 off a 2.0 16v, and the 16v's had quite a few differences from the VR6 slam panels in terms of bracketry, recesses, holes etc Not overly sure about your 8v slam panel, but it sounds like a bit of drilling is needed there Phat unfortunately :(
PhatVR6 0 Posted May 6, 2004 no, it's the panel that come with it (8v) So why does it have the slots of there's no hole???? how stupid..... It still has the slots in it for the early grille....
Rado16v 0 Posted May 6, 2004 I've heard factory slam panels never had slots for both grilles early and late, however, replacement ones did. Was it ever pranged or slam panel replaced?
PhatVR6 0 Posted May 6, 2004 I don't think so. I can't see any evidence at all of any damage or overspray. it's totally straight and the panel gaps are all 100% perfect. Maybe it's another one of those quirky 8v things..... :?:
Guest Posted May 6, 2004 I've heard factory slam panels never had slots for both grilles early and late, however, replacement ones did. Was it ever pranged or slam panel replaced? i dont think its a matter of early or late m8ey, just different slam panels for different Corrado's with different radiator positionings. Thats why you can never be sure with slam panels unfortunately. Drilling it aint gonna hurt too much is it?
PhatVR6 0 Posted May 6, 2004 you're right, I'll just drill a hole in it for the rubber bung thingy and that'll be it, job sorted.
Mike Edwards 0 Posted May 6, 2004 The slam-panel for a 4-cylinder differs from that on the VR6, but will accomodate a VR6-sized radiator. You need the driver's side retaining plate for use with the 675mm radiator. Part number is 535 121 267 A. HTH
