dubbprince 0 Posted May 6, 2004 i have a problem with the front passenger side shock...i think its worn very badly. I'm getting blown accross roads...can hear its scratching when going over humps etc. Basically i wanna replace it..but will either passat or golf ones fit?? I want a bilstein/BOGE gas strut...from GSF preferably please...so if anyone can look up which one would be best that would be superb as i'm at work right now. Cheers lads! Sanjay. dubbprince 0 Posted May 6, 2004 2?? but daz..its just the one shock that sounds a bit funny...kinda squeeky. I popped over to a vw specialist in my lunch break and turns out its fine, bounces up and down at normal rate...neither soft or hard so it could be the top mount? but i've been told it cant be that as it cant hang down. do i need to replace both shocks if ONLY ONE has gone? dazzyvr6 0 Posted May 6, 2004 yes always replace in pairs, otherwise 1 will give more than the other
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 6, 2004 God yeah, don't even think about replacing dampers individually! You must have a matched pair per axle, which is why koni people need to be careful with the adjustments.
coullstar 0 Posted May 6, 2004 I got 2 G-Max front dampers from Larkspeed for only £83 inc del. You can order online as well.
dubbprince 0 Posted May 6, 2004 cheers for that coullstar! i'm on the case...if i have to replace in pairs then i might as well go for GMAX as i already have lowered 40mm springs.
