Talltorrac 10 Posted June 29, 2013 Has anyone had to access the seat motors - my passenger recline is not working. I know its not the switch - have already swapped the switch with the working driver seat and the up down is working on its own switch. For obvious reasons I don't want to start pulling at the leather to take the seat apart in an attempt to investigate problems - that will always lead to trouble!! Advice guys? seanl82 23 Posted June 29, 2013 I'd remove the plug under the seat, and measure for voltage and insulation to start with mate. If the wire has been trapped or accidentally tugged on, it could be a break or loose connection. Better to ensure all wiring all the way to the motor before you start ripping the seat apart. Its all about processes of elimination, and the motor will be dead last in the list of investigation. :thumbleft:
Harrier 1 Posted June 29, 2013 The recline motor isn't so bad to get to, un clip the lower part of the cusion & carefully lift it back & you will see the motor, try giving it a tap while operating switch ,Once you know power supply is ok of course. stevec14 10 Posted July 10, 2013 Had exactly the same problem with my drivers' side recline motor and it turned out to be a break in the cable by the tilt mechanism. Give the cable a gently tug, sometimes the wire snaps but not the sheathing.
