Golf 4 Handbrake Fitted

Recommended Posts

took the handbrake off and rotated the rear mounting leg outwards and then tapped the foot inwards. This has given sufficient clearance for the cables. I then just tapped the fitted mount to align it properly. There's no science to it, just tap and refit. Took about 45 minutes in all. The other thing to do is to cut down the centre rod as the threaded end drags on the base of the bracket where the cables come out. I'm loathe to cut it as i know I'll regret it later for one reason or another! Thought about using a spacer tube at the other end but this will mean that the rod will not lock into place in the handbrake.
