Joe's flash red VR

Recommended Posts

Well after a brief fling with an mx5 after my mk2 was smashed in I have decided to return to the vag scene in a car I've admired for as long as I can remember, the corrado vr6!

I picked the car up around a week ago from a guy on this forum, the seller was a top lad and I'm so pleased with the car, it feels like nothing I've ever driven before and I can't wait for next summer to enjoy it properly. I bought it due to its service history, and clean bodywork as well as the fact that most of the expensive common problems have been rectified already meaning I can enjoy the car straight away.

The car is fairly standard apart from a few small mods installed by previous owners including weitec coilovers, a milltek catback, induction kit, debadged grille and m3 style tails. Since picking the car up I have fitted a set of lenso bsx wheels i got in a deal on the car which I think look great on it.

As far as future plans go I have a few ideas in my head but will be following a sort of oem+ route as I think these cars look gorgeous even in standard trim.

Anyway, enough with the long spiel and onto the pictures, apologies for all the leaves stuck to the car.

The weather was pretty good today and I decided a few photos were in order so I headed up to my mate Jordan's house and took a few photos of the rado along with some of his new mk2 VR6... enjoy!

Most recent subtle wee mod, I know it may annoy some of you but I really hated the standard lenso caps and figured this was better than sticking bbs centres on and claiming they are Rs's

So in the direction of oem+ I bought a set of all red tinted lights, however I was unhappy with the consistency of the tint and the finish so masked them up and sanded them right back...

I then hit them with a couple coats of e-tech red tint spray and after drying a couple coats of hycote lacquer, here are the results...

Could do with a polish I think but I'm honestly really chuffed, usually I'm an absolute spack when it comes to spraying and this is the first thing I think I've ever made a decent job of :p

Photos of them on the car to follow once this snow clears!

Really nice looking car mate and looks like a top job you've done on those rear lights.

Wanna sell your bonnet?
