Dave W 0 Posted February 13, 2014 Have a problem with my 1.8 16v. Don't have any charge going to battery when running. Dash light not working either. I have changed alternator and voltage regulator on back of alternator but still same. Is there a relay connected to charge system. It was working ok. Car starts and runs ok. Got me puzzled !!!. Dave W 0 Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks, beginning to think this is problem. proved bulb on dash ok. Light not coming on when blue wire put to earth with ignition on. Dave W 0 Posted February 14, 2014 Sorted. Blue wire broken in loom where it goes between gearbox and power steering reservoir. Found two wires broken. loom been crushed against reservoir when car been on road. Repaired wires and cable tied loom away from gearbox. Worth checking yours.
