gradeAfailure 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Hahah, he's all birded up, remember?! Looking sweet though mate, and yours is a metallic too, n'est pas? Hmmm, think I may have to get the 'rat's bodywork sorted out at some point, and your guy could be the man for the job...
randal 0 Posted July 25, 2005 I whole heartedly recommend him, he's done a bang up job on mine and my mate's Mum's car (reason I say "car" - it's an escort cab :pukeleft: )in the last couple of weeks and the jobs done on both are spot on. Drop me a line when yer ready and I'll send you his details. 8)
randal 0 Posted February 22, 2007 Thought I'd resurrect this thread for a couple of reasons, firstly because my Rado got towed (driven actually) away today as it's now become another statistic and another "beyond economical repair" insurance write off. :( Serves me right for taking her to look at a new car! Long and short of it, some woman hesitated on a roundabout and thought she could make it across in front of me as I was turning on the roundabout. Funnily enough, I was a little to engaged in the turn (wheel at 45 degrees, car turning right) and she smeared the front the rado down the side of her car. The damage wasn't severe in the slightest - scratches, knackered number plate and a non-working headlight. But, it was enough for my insurer to declare her a total loss :( Good news is, I got a reasonable sum for her and I have a feeling she'll be back on the road in the not too distant seeing as the salvage company drove her away! Sad end to 3 years of pretty much hassle free motoring, but that's the way it goes I guess.. Second reason for posting this is to say a massive thank you to all the people who've helped me with advice, getting greasy, laughs, and the providing endless hours of entertainment when I should have been working or doing something else. I've met a lot of good people through the forum, not to mention my girlfriend and some friends (who I desperately need to catch up with!) all who without that German engineered coupe of glee would be totally non-existant to me. OK, I'm actually gonna start crying - no really. Cheers again and Cat Slaters y'all :D
Phil K 0 Posted February 22, 2007 ...some friends (who I desperately need to catch up with!) Cough, cough ;) Sad news matey... mines off on Saturday morning too (only sold rather than towed) :( You'll have to come over to show me the new ride and check out my new motors too... Golf comes on Saturday afternoon and you already know about the LCR 8) Catch you soon fella...
randal 0 Posted February 22, 2007 You're not wrong matey, been far too long! Jo's is getting collected on Friday afternoon by a chap who lives on the south coast, seems like an enthusiasty-type chap so we've pointed him here to get signed up. Ex-Polo GT owner turned Rado lover by the sounds of it, so I reckon she's gone to a good home (rado, not Jo lol). How freaky, we all get shot of our Rados in the space of 48 hours... So you've actually found a Goof?? Last I heard you were perusing for one... Good on you bloke, I'll definitely have to pop round and take a butcher's at that. Should have mine sorted out this weekend now I've got somewhere to park her too (finally!).
Phil K 0 Posted February 22, 2007 Yup... left the deposit on Tuesday - absolute bargain aswel! May pop over to you if you don't make it to mine - I know what you're time management is like ;)
randal 0 Posted February 22, 2007 I'm touched, almost sounds like you're implying I have some time management :geek: Sounds like a Peter Pan to me though, have to give Dave a slap too as I've not seen him in donkey's.
