Rear spoiler sticking.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

As the title suggests, I have a sticky rear spoiler on my old girl.

I understand that these can be stripped and refurbished with little effort.

I have been looking to buy a replacement unit so that I have spares in case I break something when removing/cleaning my original. I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Does anyone here have a good working unit that I could buy ?

The main reason for posting thought, is to see if there is such a thing as an up-rated motor for the spoiler ? Or is there an up-rated/newer system out there for the Corrado ?

I suspect the answer is no to both as I can find nothing on the web. But thought I would ask the pro's.

Cheers in advance.

Al.

There's loads of these knocking about should you break yours. The screws under the spoiler (2 each side) often seize and there captive nuts turn in there housings, douse the nuts with penetrating oil before you commence removal and allow it to soak in

If you remove the inside boot cover you'll find a black bow tie shaped piece of plastic, pull it towards you and it dislocates from the motor spindle, turn it and it raises and lowers the spoiler, you can then see if the motor is weak or the mechanism binding.

I thought there was a wiki on this but I can't find it?
