dylan0451 10 Posted June 29, 2014 Just looking on the Bilstein web shop, there's two versions of the B12 kit, one for vehicles with "Plusachse" one for Basisachse? Reading the Wiki, would suggest all VR6's are 'plus axle' yet everywhere I've searched lists that both types are compatible with the VR6?
daves16v 1 Posted June 29, 2014 Plusachse. I've just bought this B12 kit for my VR.
dylan0451 10 Posted June 29, 2014 Ok, thanks for clearing that up.how do you find it? Are you coming from standard suspension?
Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted June 29, 2014 For anyone asking this in the future, plus axle is 5 stud and basic suspension is 4 stud. Basic setup is the same apart from track width.
dylan0451 10 Posted June 29, 2014 Ahh, so plus axle really translates as'plus one' on the stud count. So I assume the bottom ball joint/wishbone is longer and the difference between suspension kits is that the plus axle has a larger offset on the bottom? Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted June 30, 2014 For anyone asking this in the future, plus axle is 5 stud and basic suspension is 4 stud. Basic setup is the same apart from track width. The 5 stud stuff is widetrack so there are longer wishbones, anti roll bar and driveshafts and the wings are wider to accomodate the extra width. Ball Joints are not interchangeable either nor are drop links I beleive.
