awigman 0 Posted July 14, 2014 My second post of the day requesting help! My spoiler seems to operate fine when it rises however when it lowers automatically it drops a little then stops. When you lower is manually its drops a little, stops then you hear a tick (presumably from a switch) then drops a little bit more, then ticks then a little bit more and so on and so on until its all the way down. Any advise? Thanks
Jon_vr6 1 Posted July 14, 2014 Two choices by a brand new motor or bypass the green thermal fuse in the motor
johnnyfication 0 Posted July 14, 2014 It could just require stripping and cleaning. Mine did the same, so I stripped it down and cleaned and re-greased the motor + complete mech. It now works perfectly. Word of warning it can be fiddly to put back together, but if you take your time it will go.
Jon_vr6 1 Posted July 14, 2014 When it clicks though it means the thermo fuse is on its way out

Roger Chatfield 0 Posted July 14, 2014 As above, I had the same problem with mine, removed it, stripped it down and gave it a good clean, now works fine. I did notice a fair bit of copper dust in and around the motor commutator, this may have been causing shorts and hence tripping the thermal fuse. Rog.
