Speedline Centre Cap Retaining Ring

Recommended Posts

I picked up a lovely set of Speedlines from West Bromwich yesterday (Thanks BrettS) but on examining them closer today 2 of the centre caps were missing the spring steel inner retaining ring from them. I found one on a broken cap I had lying around but could really do with another, alternatively an excellent condition cap would suffice.

Wouldn't the retaining ring be the same on pretty much any centre cap from the VAG range? If so, perhaps you could pick one up from a breakers?

My RX2 Anniversary Centre Caps don't have a retaining ring, they just push straight in so wonder if it is speedline specific?

Make one out of a wire coat hanger? Or even the loop already there on a plastic one just closed up a bit.

Audi Ronals have the ring too, but it might be a different size?

Problem sorted. Made a call to my local VW dealer and surprised to find that they still had a few Speedline Centre Caps in stock, so bit the bullet and ordered 4 new ones.

Picked them up late today and they checked the system and it was showing 2 left in stock - The Part Nr is 535601149A if anybody is interested?

That's surprisingly cheap. Might have to get my butt down to the dealers and get a few to put away.

Correct, they ordered them from VW directly.
