What's happened?

Recommended Posts

My car has got better handling, how? I'm not sure lol

Well since a gone 24v I had no powersteering

So finally I got the pipes replaced them last week with new fluid now the steering seems to feel so much lighter than before

Also got alot less under steer too

Differences being the AUE lump and falken tyres but I can't see the tyres making that much difference,

Unless the 24v is lighter by enough to make a noticeable difference?

Just curious if anyone Els has noticed anything like this

The car does seem slightly higher up front too

Well I don't think the engine itself is that much lighter that it'll be noticeable. The plastic manifold obviously helps but the cylinder head itself is bigger and heavier. Block is almost identical.

In the past I've found tyres can make a huge difference. That coupled with an overhaul of the hydraulics may give you that additional feeling through the steering wheel that translates to better handling. Either way it's all good!

Yes it is a bonus but not good enough as not sliding out my seat round bends yet

These new falkens are pretty good in the frosty mornings we have had

I might brave the cold and add a little neg camber today

What do you have it set at currently? I run mine at -1.5deg which gives a nice crisp turn in and corner feel (IMO) but the downside to that is the increase in tramlining effects.

Be interested to hear how you get on.

At moment I checked it with iphone lol between -0.5 -1

Don't know toe but it looks like got slight toe in

I don't get tram lining

I'm no racing driver far from it but from feel of it

I have very sharp initial turn in then I get slight under steer mid way on sharpish bends over around 40mph

Been busy but tomorrow I will attemp -1.5-2 camber

Have you got a little toe out?

Wouldn't mess with the toe as you'll get premature wear of the tyres even in a straight line. Not good on a road car.

I'd be tempted by -2deg if I was tracking it more but see how you get on and you'll feel a lot of difference in that half a degree.

Omg what a day

Besides the jack dropping whilst I was doing oil change

The oil filter cap cracking

Think camber is going to have to wait until I got a new jack and axle stands

Can't go to work, I'm not pedalling 17miles

Tried some epoxy resin let it cure for 6 hours with no joy
