Anyone have any of these or can point me in the right direction to obtain them. There are all obselete from VW dealers. I have been advised to go to VW Heritage if you chaps cannot help. If anything I have listed is quoted incorrectly, I would appreciate it being pointed out too. Thanks in advance. Wendy I have a 1996 VR6 1/ Window Scrappers both Near and Offside I believe the dealers call them Window aperature seals and have parts numbers N/S - 837473A01C O/S - 535837474A01C 2/ Roof Strips - Both required - Don't know part numbers 3/ Both Offside and Nearside Door Sill Rubbers - The bit you step over so maybe Step not sill ?? !! 4/ Door Strips (Protectors ) Front section N/S 5358535032BC O/S 5358535042BC - On Front Wing Middle Section N/S 5358535152BC O/S 5358535162BC - On Doors Rear Section N/S 5358535372BC O/S 5358535382BC - Rear Panel 5/ Sunroof Cables - Don't know part number Would consider good condition 2nd hand ones of these. 6/ O/S Wing Indicator - Again 2nd hand in good condition is fine Just incase anyone needs a Sunroof Seal - VW have 47 in Stock !!! seanl82 23 Posted January 7, 2015 Hi Wendy. I recently had my car resprayed so I feel your pain! I sourced a few of the items you require from various places, but VW Heritage is probably your best bet. The scraper seals are no longer available from VW iirc. They are called scraper or slot seals. They are both available from VW Classic parts via Heritage, and are in the region of £45 each. The sunroof seal is also available from there, although I got mine from ARZ Tuning. I did this as I also needed the wing mirror seals which were only available from ARZ, so got the sunroof seal here to justify the price of the shipping as they are based in Germany. (Was almost 30 Euros!). Door sills I'm not sure of tbh as I re-used mine, and rub strips likewise. Roof strips are obsolete, they are not available aftermarket, and you'll pay a fortune to anyone willing to part with a new or used good condition set. If the inner seal bit has perished on yours, my advice would be to just cut it off and be done with it. If you're willing to pay out for a new set, put up a wanted post on here would be the best bet. I'm pretty positive you'd be very hard pushed to find the sunroof cables, so your only option is to find a second hand one, or alternatively a moonroof from a B3? Passat, or Mk3 Golf. There are a few threads regarding swapping and which ones fit. Indicators as you've said can be had second hand, but be sure the seals are intact. Good aftermarket ones are available though. Think they're not only obsolete but also quite rare / desirable so I suspect you're gonna have a hard time getting a set and may have to improvise. sexybourbon 0 Posted January 7, 2015 I used a seat ibiza sunroof from a mk2 model ill keep my eye out for one for you When you stick the plastic sill bit back on dont use double sided tape , instead get in touch with me and ill send you some magnetic tape for them so you can remove them and dry underneath when you have washed the car , that way it wont sit it the sill and cause rust Heritage is the best place , iv got some spare bits from my respray if you get really stuck Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Roof Strips - mine are not that old - but just bervous if they get damaged being taken off, Same with Door rubbers and sills. I will leave it a day or two just incase I can prise new items out of anyone storing items on here, then go to VW Heritage. Seems like the sunroof is going to be the bug bear. Fingers crossed. I thought all late sill guards were plastic? I know mine are. If so you can reuse them Wendy. I have a tendancy to agree the sill guard (that sounds better)is plastic - Do these come off OK ? All that is wriong with mine is it has lifted and I have a small amount of rust where this has happened. I have a few small bits like door handle seals i think and maybe sme wing mirror seals but ill have a dig about what i have in my boxes The sill trims are a ridgid plastic with a soft rubber edge , if you get a long stanley blade or olfa blade ( those are available to buy from ebay) you can kind of prize it up a tad and them slice sideways in to the tape ad it should come off easy just dont pull them up or they will distort !! As for your roof rails when you take them off try and keep them flat on a surface with a few books or something like that either side at the front middle and back , that will stop them deforming over time there off the car Other stuff like the ariel seal and small rubber trims are available on ebay so make sure you look there Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
chazrad 0 Posted January 7, 2015 Wendy. How topical of you to post this. I have just stripped my interior less for the dash ready for my car to be collected and taken to the bodyshop for my respray. I need most bits myself but planned to get most bits from VW Heritage. Interested to note that VW have sunroof seals in stock though. I also need to get the seals that run around the door windows - VW Heritage call them Felt Guide Seals, I think. I wasn't going to bother with the roof strips, in fact I have even thought about having the gutters filled and smoothed, but reckon it's too much work / too expensive. So I'll just reuse the originals, I guess. Re the door strips, I don't fancy shiny aluminium DDI ones to be honest, though good spot, Jim. I thought I would post on here first before I made an idiot of myself at VW Heritage using differing terms and waving hands to describe parts that that cannot see at the end of the phoneor Internet !! My roof strips are not that old, so fingers crossed they will survive, same with sill guards and hopefully the Door rubber (Protectors) - although these (the latter) are the ones I am most concerned about. Seals that run around the windows - eek - OMG I won't be having any holidays for years after this lot !!!!!!!!!!!!! seanl82 23 Posted January 8, 2015 Chazrad, the felt seal is the inner or outer seal that runs round the window. Not cheap! The one thar seals the door to the body is called the door aperture seal and are £75 each from Heritage. I also bought these and they are perfect. Door now shuts with a reassuring thunk! Goldie 2 Posted January 8, 2015 I dont think Script sill trims aren't an early/late thing, i know a 95 car that has them (fully original paint) and my comparatively early L plate VR has the ribbed sill trims..
