White VR6 in Windy Yorkshire! :)

Recommended Posts

no danger m8. i ended up replacing many more parts than those which were on the original list lol

plus you just cant cater for things like the heater matrix pipes collapsing when they fitted the new roose hoses - that was costly even though vince did me a half price on the labour to fit a new matrix!

however, on the plus side it meant that apart from attacking the bottom end the majority of the engine related area is now new :D lol

oh, if you consider changing your cooling hoses i would recommend using the original VW constant tension clips rather than the jubilee set the hose manf's sell (as long as it doesnt invalidate the warranty on the hoses)

FYI check out Post Office for credit card - they have a 0% transfer thingy & also a 3 month 0% on purchases! ;)

i know cause i got one 2 weeks ago so as i can put a manifold back longlife stainless system on the VR before its MOT lol

Ref the mats, not sure about the backing as I sold the car Monday! lol I think they're rubber?

Toby could check for you if he's feeling generous as he bought it from me ;)

Wot?

Why u sell up?!!!!

Tyre garage:

Me: I heard u good, coz u ONLY use a torque wrench for final tightening of wheel?

Garage: Yes

Me: How much to replace my stretched tyres?

Garage: U know what? They don't look that stretched?

- Personally, stick with em to save money

Me: OK!

Me: That ad for 15" powder coat for £15, any good?

Garage: Jed is good

Me: How much for u to remove my tyres to power coat?

Garage: £10/tyre

So that's £25/15" power coated :)

Fuel flap is correct, seat cover trim bits should have press rivets in to stop the bending out like that but chances are the splined bit at the back that keeps them in is broke. Dash lights should be off when lights are switched off, battery has obviously been on and off so many times the posts are worn, so it won't clamp tight enough, hence the foil, and finally there should be a fuse box cover which also hides the top part of the bonnet release handle, along with the trim in your footwell on the right which looks broke at the top.

They display constantly but the green backlight should be off when the lights are off. If you like, I have a fusebox cover but it has a couple of holes where a previous owner has lost the correct securing clips, and just screwed a couple of self tappers in! It can't be seen, but it's yours for postage if you want it?

Just had lots of fun at Shell.

Ever saw a driver trying to remove his petrol cap for what seems forever?...

A lady tried to help

The staff tried

Another tried then said "try this garage, they ll do it free nowt!"

After another 10mins trying...I went to garage...

...a little elbow grease and what we all thought was the LOCKED position was in fact the UNLOCKED position...doh

I used to the fan coming on loudly to cool the engine bay after switching off...

But for the whole cabin to vibrate as if the engine is on - is something i need to get used too!

Had to pull the keys out to re-assure myself the engine was off - lol
