Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Non working sun roof looks good. Seller says it works - but when tilt only one side opens, and then it cannot close the sunroof :( So darent open it yet... How do u open the sunroof head liner to check for sun roof leaks?
Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Re: the heater control. Mine doesn't work properly (seems to skip teeth and spin round, but nowt happens) unless I switch the blower off. If I switch the blower off, it works perfectly. Not a fix as such, but might help as a temporary measure. Taken knob off - Nope! Still dont work :(
Tigerfish 10 Posted February 5, 2015 I used some golf straps for my parcel shelf (until I changed the rear shelf for arranging different speakers). The a rest gets in the way if you fold the rear seats down, so it flips forward out of the way (and obviously allows access to the first aid kit tucked inside)
Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) Not advertised for Corrado but someone else on here mentioned them being the same part number and being perfect, so I bought a set and I can confirm, they are perfect. Cheap too! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271713638194?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Thanks bud! :) Edited February 5, 2015 by Wayne2015

Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Rear speakers standard???
seanl82 23 Posted February 5, 2015 Door handle can be secured by tightening the screw in the door jam just behind the handle itself. Tailgate trim is secured by quarter turn screws, which are not available and as they're soft plastic, most are in a pretty poor state so may be hard to get hold of the screws. Probably easier to get a second hand replacement trim with screws in place, though not sure how good they'll be. And no, parcel shelf 6x9s are not standard. Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Fuel flap / cap standard? Just read somewhere there were particular fuel caps (not the flap) that was for Corrado with central locking???
Tigerfish 10 Posted February 5, 2015 First aid kit? Yeah
seanl82 23 Posted February 5, 2015 Not usually a locking fuel cap. The flap locks with central locking so no need unless yours isn't working? First aid kit is a bonus that its there. Sometimes fetch silly money on ebay for originals, even though they're unusable now as they're obviously out of date! There should be a warning triangle in between the seat backs in a zipped compartment too.
Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Yeah Cheers Tiger for pics! I have no first aid box in mine :(

There should be a warning triangle in between the seat backs in a zipped compartment too. Central locking working :) But i cant see the fuel flap locking - unless there should be a catch on the flap to lock to the body (see pic of my flap above - its just a flat piece of metal!) Will look for that triangle later. No doubt thats missing too i guess! Ref central locking? How do u lock all doors/boot from inside the car? Sorry for so many newbie questions! I have no manual. Is there one on the forum?
Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Just making up a list of parts i need then?: 1. Is that headlight bracket thing (snap?) - is that a separate thing u can buy? 2. Directional knob - as someone said, expensive to fix 3. Parts to fix sunroof? - seller included a used sunroof (orange! No seals) 4. Parcel shelf straps (snapped) 5. Tailgate lose trim / fixings 6. New wipers (dealer or ebay) - original hook or aero blade? 7. Floor mats - car came with no floor mats :(
Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 My electric windows U cannot operate both at same time - not work. Only can operate one at a time - normal?
seanl82 23 Posted February 5, 2015 There should be a little bracket with a hole in on the flap (think yours is missing) that goes into the square hole above and to the left of the cap in the picture. It locks by a sliding bar into the hole in the bracket. You cant lock the car from the inside. Apart from putting the lock pin down on each door, but it won't activate the central locking. 1. New headlight required as the bracket is part of the back assembly. 2. Yes 3. Check the new assembly manually. If you remove the cover where the interior light is, you will see an allen key type tool. It fits into the little hole at the back and in the middle of the motor. Be careful though as sometimes when the mech breaks, one side will push up when sliding forward, and will scratch the sunroof panel from the outside. 4. As already mentioned. 5. As already mentioned. 6. Get either Audi TT or two VW Lupo GTI drivers side wipers. Much much better than the standard ones! 7. Not sure if still available from the dealership but I think so, were around £55 per set previously. Some decent reproduction ones on ebay apparently, although I can't confirm personally having never tried them.

Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Can't hear the vid properly tbh. At least your ABS is operating as normal though! Lol Best I can do! Its night and quiet as a mouse already :) Yeah. I know my Prelude ABS light a bit temperamental! Corrado steering REALLY heavy when parking - like no power steering. But light as a feather when driving. How do I check my car got power steering??? I tell u. All the classics I had, even a 1988 Gen4 Celica convertible ... This Corrado has the MOST rattle, squeak and pop! Eeeek! Lol
Jim 2 Posted February 5, 2015 Car sounds like it's starting up fine. The VR does take a second or so of cranking usually before it comes to life :)
seanl82 23 Posted February 5, 2015 Its a hand built car, your a better man than me if you can get rid of all the rattles! lol. You should have PAS. Pump is down at the front right of the engine block. Follow the alternator belt. Check the belt is in decent condition and you can turn it no more than 90 degrees with finger and thumb. Probably worth changing steering fluid if its not been done in a while too. You have to use the correct VW green fluid though, rather than ATF or other red type fluid generally available. Wayne2015 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Car sounds like it's starting up fine. The VR does take a second or so of cranking usually before it comes to life :) Cool Its just I not used to the sound. Usually its a ker-ker-ker-hmmmmm turning over of engines I used to. The Corrado is ger-ger-ger-hmmmm sound. Which I like :) But wanted to make sure its normal that's all ...
