Door handle...but not what I thought

Well, drivers side door handle broke so I assumed it was the usual striker issue, bought a repair kit from the forum (thanks daves16v), went to fit it today and...the kit has already been fitted, it's another bit that's broken! Seems to be the bit that lifts the striker that has snapped. Tried to include pictures but for whatever reason it won't let me load them. I realise my descriptive skills are lacking but any ideas? Is it repairable or a new handle jobbie?
