tonedef 9 Posted February 21, 2015 Don't know for sure about the Mk1 as we have a Mk2 TT but if it's like every other VAG we've owned the water issue is more about getting it to drain out rather than stopping it getting in..........There should be a small drain hole in the bottom of the rubber fuel tank surround, it's probably blocked up with years of crud.
