lilfuzzer 1 Posted May 11, 2015 In my verity build thread I may have added the wheel trying experiment from last year. Tried cream centres / standard silver and there maybe a picture of black centres They are on a bordeaux pearl though so really need to check what goies well with blackberry. The for sale thread for teh green one shows the cream ones too

VW_OwneR_85 2 Posted May 11, 2015 silver centers with red bbs badge look sweet!! maybe even better topped with gold bolts!
TanVr6 0 Posted May 12, 2015 I'm thinking either.. 1. Leave centres original with polished dishes. 2. Polish centres and dishes. 3. Refurb the dishes back to original Bbs finish, diamond cut and lacquer (if anyone can do that is?!) 4. Super schrome the centres and polished dishes! Choices choices, too many bloody choices! Should have stuck to the TT rims
lilfuzzer 1 Posted May 13, 2015 If you super chrome the centres make sure you have seen evidence of doing that before. Seen a couple of dodgy efforts of coating that colour up here

Rainbow polishing in digbeth are supposed to be good but don't want to take any risks.
Goldie 2 Posted May 13, 2015 AFAIK the original finish on the dishes cannot be reproduced.. Certainly whenever i have spoken to Mike he is of the opinion that RSs should not be refinished unless they really have to be for that reason..

Certainly whenever i have spoken to Mike he is of the opinion that RSs should not be refinished unless they really have to be for that reason.. AFAIK??? So if they can not be reproduced and I have one that has slight damage from pothole. Mike says he can repair and re polish. Which means non standard finish. I will have to re polish all the others for them to be the same right? Or do I keep looking for someone who can do original factory finish on them? Goldie 2 Posted May 13, 2015 AFAIK = as far as i know.. And yes i think you are right that you need them all done.. When they are made the lips have lines in them that are from the pressing process, this is then lacquered over. If you machine any damage out you lose the lines.. Best to check with Mike.. ChrisL 18 Posted May 13, 2015 The dishes look diamond cut as standard. When I looked into refurbishing that actual set I found someone that would do it. There's plenty of people around now that do diamond cutting.
