Nice! Did you also get the bodyshop to red tint the tail lights.

 

Yes, they were still a little bit orange from before, so got them re spray them

Lol, I took them off to have Passat door handles fitted and painted the same colour, just a pain to get the striker changed on the back of them.

I meant to say side repeaters.

Also looking to change all the front steering components this week before VW Festival

I have the wishbones and ball joints and r32 bushes

 

Just need the track rod ends

Can you guys recommend any decent quality ones please???

Drop links maybe. May as well do the rear beam bushes to complete the set! Don't forget geometry and alignment after all that though.

Maybe cv boot kit too

 

I have done the rear beam bushes before

Polybushes I think.

 

And wheel alignment after all complete

Hey Tan, what brand wishbones did you go with?

 

I believe they are Topran with R32 bushes.

Just ordering the rest of the bits from vw heritage.

there was some talk on here of them being reproduced Tan

 

by the same person who does the new red badges etc, check out the supplier section

 

i do have a new rear brushed chrome VR6 badge but that came with the VR & is sat waiting happily until the fresh paint is done, sorry lol

would you mind sending me a PM with info about where done, what done & how much please (including window rubbers etc if possible)?

 

i am due some money soon & am now hunting for a good paint shop for the VR. am hoping for full respray, glass out & maybe installation of a Kamei front/rear/side skirts

 

wendy has very kindly sent me info about the place she used in Cov & i am waiting for more info from EJ about the place his dad works in oxford

 

also, i have found a classic car restoration place literally 3 minutes form my house

The problem with the place in Cov, whilst they're excellent, is the waiting time. My boss had his MK2 Scirocco booked in there - was booked in 6 months ahead of dropping it off. He dropped it off earlier in the year and has been told it's going to be about a year before they even start on it! So... unfortunately... you might as well write them off. I wanted to use them too (owner is good friends with my family) but he's utterly snowed under.
